Privacy Policy

Effective

Your solves belong on your device. CubeFlow has no app backend, advertising, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK or cloud solve sync. Optional online and device features process information as described below.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy describes CubeFlow — Speedcubing, provided by Paul Sun, and the website at cubeflow.com.cn. “We” refers to the CubeFlow developer. For privacy questions, contact support@cubeflow.com.cn.

CubeFlow does not collect your local solve history on a developer-operated server. The app’s current App Store privacy declaration is “Data Not Collected.” This does not mean the app never processes information on your device or connects to services you choose to use.

2. Information stored on your device

CubeFlow stores solves, times, scrambles, penalties, dates, comments and sessions locally. Settings, selected photo backgrounds, algorithm preferences, cached competition information and saved device preferences also support app features on your device. Smart Cube features may process and store cube state, move and timing information associated with your practice.

Local solve and session records use on-device storage. There is no CubeFlow cloud account or automatic solve sync. Your operating system may include app files in a device backup according to your system settings; this is separate from a CubeFlow sync service.

3. Competition services and WCA sign-in

When you browse or refresh online competition information, CubeFlow connects directly to the World Cube Association (WCA), WCA Live and, for relevant competition information, Cubing China (cubing.com). Requests can include the competition, event, search filters or WCA ID you are looking up. Live-result features may keep a network connection open to receive updates.

These services receive network information such as your IP address and the requests needed to provide the feature. Remote images and linked organizer pages may also be loaded from their respective hosts. Their handling of these requests is governed by their own privacy practices.

Optional WCA sign-in opens WCA’s authorization flow. Your credentials are entered with WCA. CubeFlow exchanges authorization information directly with WCA, stores authorization tokens in the device Keychain, and keeps a local copy of the returned profile for account-related features. Signing out removes CubeFlow’s saved session and profile; it does not delete your WCA account or public WCA results.

Read the WCA Privacy Statement. External algorithm references and other links open third-party services only when used. CubeFlow does not operate those services.

4. Optional permissions and connected features

  • Bluetooth: used to discover and connect to compatible smart cubes and timers. CubeFlow processes device identifiers, connection information, available battery information, cube moves or states and timing signals. Saved device preferences remain on your device.
  • Nearby Battle / local network: used to discover and connect with a nearby participant. Device display names are visible to peers, and the session exchanges information such as scrambles, readiness, live times, finished results and scores. This is direct local play, not a CubeFlow-hosted matchmaking service.
  • Photos: the system photo picker lets you select an image for a background. The chosen image is processed and stored locally; it is not uploaded to CubeFlow. Saving an image or scramble diagram to your photo library can request permission to add photos.
  • Location and maps: location permission is used to show your position on the competition map when you choose that feature. Map services are provided through Apple’s mapping features and may communicate with Apple under its own privacy practices. CubeFlow has no location-history backend.
  • Calendar: used when you choose to add competition schedule events. Newer systems offer write-only calendar access; older systems may show a broader calendar permission prompt. The feature writes the events you select.

You can decline optional permissions or change them in system settings. The features that need them may then be unavailable, while local timing and other unrelated features remain usable.

5. Import, export and sharing

Import files you select are processed on your device. Exports can contain session names, solve times, dates, scrambles, comments and other supported record fields. CubeFlow does not upload these files to its own server.

When you save or share an export, image or other content, the destination you choose—such as a file provider, cloud drive, mail app or another person—receives it. That destination’s privacy practices apply. Review the contents before sharing.

6. Your choices and data retention

Local app records remain until you remove them through the app or remove the app’s local data. Deleting a session can also remove its associated solves. Export anything you want to keep before deletion. Copies you saved elsewhere, system backups and Keychain items may have separate retention behavior; signing out of WCA explicitly removes CubeFlow’s saved authorization session.

We cannot retrieve or remotely delete your on-device records, and cannot restore them from a CubeFlow server. Manage device backups through your system settings and third-party accounts through those providers.

7. Information you send to support

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer your request, investigate the issue and maintain the correspondence needed to resolve it. Email is handled by the mail services used to send and receive the conversation.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and any necessary follow-up or legal obligations. You can ask us to delete it by emailing support@cubeflow.com.cn. Please avoid sending passwords, authentication tokens or unnecessary personal information.

8. This website

This website uses no analytics, advertising trackers, tracking cookies or embedded third-party marketing tools. Visiting the site sends the hosting server the information needed to deliver pages, including your IP address, requested address and browser request information.

The hosting infrastructure may keep access and error logs for operation, security and troubleshooting. This technical website traffic is separate from your local app solve history. External links take you to services with their own policies.

9. Children’s privacy

CubeFlow has no developer-operated account registration or advertising. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to support can contact us to request deletion. Optional third-party services have their own age and account requirements.

10. Changes and contact

If CubeFlow’s practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be identified in the updated policy and, where appropriate, the app’s release information.

For questions or requests about information you have sent to us, contact Paul Sun at support@cubeflow.com.cn.
